Parent Café is a welcoming, conversation-based program that brings parents and caregivers together to share experiences, learn from one another, and build the skills and support networks that help families thrive. Through guided discussions in a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment, participants explore everyday parenting challenges, celebrate successes, and discover practical strategies for raising healthy, resilient children.
At Maumee Valley Guidance Center, Parent Café provides an opportunity for parents, grandparents, foster parents, kinship caregivers, and other caregivers to connect with others who understand the joys and challenges of parenting. Every participant’s voice is valued, and every family is welcomed.
What Is a Parent Café?
Unlike a traditional parenting class, Parent Café is an interactive conversation where participants learn from both trained facilitators and one another. The relaxed format encourages open dialogue, mutual support, and the sharing of real-life experiences.
Each session is designed to help caregivers:

Parent Café is built around the nationally recognized Strengthening Families™ Protective Factors Framework, which identifies five key factors that help families become stronger and more resilient:
