Anger Management

Everyone experiences anger. Problems can develop when anger becomes difficult to control or begins affecting relationships, employment, family life, decision-making, or overall well-being.

MVGC’s anger management services help individuals understand what contributes to anger and develop healthier ways of responding.

Treatment focuses on identifying triggers, recognizing early warning signs, improving emotional regulation, developing communication and conflict-resolution skills, managing stress, improving problem-solving, and learning alternatives to impulsive or aggressive reactions.

Clients also learn how thoughts, feelings, physical reactions, and behaviors can contribute to an anger response.

Services may be provided individually or through group programming when available.

Individuals may participate voluntarily or may be referred by courts, schools, employers, community agencies, or other professionals.

The Goal

Anger management is not about eliminating anger.

The goal is to help individuals recognize anger earlier and make choices that support healthier relationships and better outcomes.
