Prevention Services

Prevention begins before a behavioral health crisis occurs.

Maumee Valley Guidance Center provides prevention programs in schools and communities throughout our service area.

Our prevention professionals provide education and evidence-based programming designed to strengthen protective factors, build healthy decision-making and coping skills, reduce risk factors, and prevent substance use and other behavioral health concerns.

Programs may address topics such as substance use prevention, social and emotional skills, healthy decision-making, coping strategies, tobacco and vaping prevention, mental health awareness, suicide prevention, and other identified community needs.

MVGC works collaboratively with schools, families, community organizations, coalitions, and other partners to address local prevention needs.
