We Help with Life's Difficulties
Everyone faces difficult times. We’re here to support you with care, respect, and understanding.
We provide services for a range of concerns, including:
- Depression, anxiety, and panic
- Trauma, stress, and difficult life experiences
- Family and relationship challenges
- Child and adolescent concerns
- Substance use and addiction
- Anger and emotional regulation
- Life transitions, including aging-related concerns
- Complex or long-term mental health conditions

Outpatient Therapy
Outpatient therapy consists of individual, marital, and family counseling for ages 3 and above. These services are provided through scheduled appointments with master’s level clinicians that use evidence-based techniques and modalities. These clinicians are also trained in EMDR Therapy which has quick results for clients and is much easier for clients to process events.
Group Therapy
Our Substance Use Program uses Evidenced Based curriculum with master’s Level Therapist providing group and individual treatment. This integrated group treats the entire person and helps the client start their journey in Recovery. The program has 6 components that all work together with treatment providers that work with substance use and mental health disorders together every day. These components include:
1. Four hours of group weekly (Substance Use Group & Seeking Safety)
2. Individual therapy using EMDR
3. Case Management
4. Medication Management
5. Drug Testing
6. Pro Social Activities
Our Anger Management Group uses a Cognitive Behavioral (evidenced Based) approach from SAMHSA. This 12-session group meets once per week. Clients then see a therapist individually to work on more personal issues causing Anger using EMDR and other evidenced base modalities.
Our Teen Seeking Safety is an evidence-based, present-focused counseling model to help Adolescents (age 13-17) attain safety from trauma and/or substance abuse.
Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment
Case Management services for youth & adults living with severe mental or behavioral issues. The goal is for the individual to be able to remain independently functioning in the community. Case Managers are on-call 24 hours.
Psychiatry & Medication Management
We have experienced Psychiatrist & APRNs on staff to assist both youth & adult clients living with depression, anxiety, or severe & persistent mental illness. Psychiatric medication evaluation & management services are offered.
Supportive Services for Veterans Families
SSVF program provides eligible veterans with a range of supportive services including case management, assistance accessing VA and mainstream benefits, short-term temporary financial assistance and housing search/ placement assistance. The goal is to improve the housing stability of very low-income veteran families.
Clubhouse Service
The program is designed to support the client’s desire & goal to remain active in the natural community environment. A supportive environment of staff & clients is created to provide clients with daily living skills, wellness activities & daily socialization opportunities.
Genoa Pharmacy – Onsite Pharmacy
MVGC has partnered with Genoa Pharmacy to provide convenient, same-location access to medications, reducing delays in starting treatment and improving medication adherence. The pharmacy team specializes in behavioral health and complex conditions, offering personalized support, medication management, and coordination with the treatment team. This integrated approach helps enhance client outcomes, reduce hospital readmissions, and streamline care delivery.
Educational Programs & Community Training
Maumee Valley Guidance Center is committed to strengthening our communities through a variety of educational and prevention-focused programs for children, families, schools, workplaces, and community organizations. Our evidence-based trainings and presentations are designed to increase awareness, build resilience, promote healthy decision-making, and support overall mental wellness.
Programs are available on topics such as mental health awareness, suicide prevention, substance use prevention, social-emotional learning, youth development, workplace wellness, veteran wellness, and family support. Whether serving students in the classroom, employees in the workplace, or community members through special events, our goal is to provide practical tools, valuable resources, and meaningful education that empowers individuals to thrive.
Project DAWN (Deaths Avoided With Naloxone) is a network of opioid overdose education and naloxone distribution programs (OENDP) coordinated by the Ohio Department of Health.
The WISE Program (Wellness Initiative for Senior Education) is a 6-week interactive educational curriculum designed to help adults 55 and older celebrate aging, make positive lifestyle choices, and safely manage medications.
SOS for Students is an evidence-based youth suicide prevention program that has been shown to reduce suicide attempts by 64%.
The Incredible Years® is a series of evidence-based early intervention programs designed to prevent and treat behavioral and emotional problems in children. It targets children (ages 4-8) to promote social-emotional learning, academic competence, and positive family relationships.
Botvin LifeSkills Training (LST) is a research-validated substance abuse prevention program proven to reduce the risks of alcohol, tobacco, drug abuse, and violence by targeting the major social and psychological factors that promote the initiation of substance use and other risky behaviors.
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an evidence-based training program that teaches how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges. Similar to physical first aid, it gives you the skills to provide initial support and connect people to appropriate professional care for both Adult and Youth.
CATCH My Breath is an evidence-based youth vaping prevention program for grades 5-12. It empowers students with essential knowledge and refusal skills to resist social and peer pressures related to e-cigarettes.
Parent Cafés are free, peer-led support groups where parents and caregivers discuss the joys and challenges of raising children in a relaxed, non-judgmental environment. Participants build resilience, share solutions, and strengthen family foundations.
The FOX Wellness Program is built around eight dimensions of wellness, recognizing that true health extends beyond clinical care. The program provides veterans with access to individualized support and resources that promote resilience, connection, and long-term stability.
Mental Health in the Workplace is an educational training program designed to help employers, managers, and employees create healthier, more supportive work environments.
